GTIS partners hired Gary Davis, Bill Mumford and Kurt Rose.
They are joining Teddy Karats, Senior Director of Acquisitions and Development, and Scott Bordogne, Director of Asset Management, on a single-family rental platform to expand regional sites and project sources and strengthen the company’s internal development capabilities.
Gary Davis, Head of Development, will oversee the development of the rental communities and most recently served as Development Director for Mack Real Estate Group. Prior to Mac, Davis worked with Rob Varadian, Partner and Head of US Investment at GTIS, at The Athena Group.
Bill Mumford, Senior Director of Acquisitions and Development, will be based in the GTIS office in North Carolina. He was previously tasked with expanding Beechwood Homes’ presence in North Carolina. Prior to that, Mumford worked for Newland Real Estate Group for 17 years.
Kurt Rose, Vice President of Development, will be responsible for project management and development of GTIS BTR projects at Phoenix MSA. He is a licensed general contractor with 30 years of experience in the residential and real estate development industry. Previously, he was General Manager at Morgan Taylor Homes, VP of Operations at Meritage Homes and Ryland Homes, and Director of Purchasing at Engle Homes.

R. M. Friedland added an experienced real estate manager Charles Dewey to the investment sales department of the firm.
Dewey began his career as director of new business and development at Pappas Enterprises, a Boston-based developer.
He has spearheaded large-scale real estate projects in downtown White Plains, building over three million square feet, including Gateway I. He subsequently held senior management positions at Mutual of New York and Advantage Real Estate Services.
Most recently, Dewey served as President and Managing Member of DDDG, LLC, which specializes in real estate development, finance, acquisitions and divestitures, and co-investment opportunities.
He received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

SCG Retail, TSCG’s Atlanta-based division announced the hiring of Jeffrey Marshall Smith, an experienced commercial real estate expert with nearly 20 years of experience including several high-profile international projects in the Middle East and South America.
Smith was Head of Leasing for the Mall of Qatar, was responsible for pre-leasing and leasing the entire center, completing the lease of 110 food and beverage outlets, family entertainment retailers, and a full range of retail stores and kiosks including La Duri, Bulgari and Valentino.
Smith has also been a consultant to the Megapolis Hard Rock Hotel and Convention Center in Panama City, Panama.
During the pandemic, Smith worked coast to coast helping clients overcome uncertainty. He received his BS from the University of Southern California and his MS in Real Estate Finance and Investment / Global Development from the Real Estate Institute. Shaka at New York University.
He will be based in the SCG Retail / TSCG Manhattan office.

Insurance company AmTrust Title named Nicolette Sinatra as the new Business Development Representative for New York.
Prior to AmTrust, Sinatra worked as Deputy General Counsel for the Witkoff Group. She also previously worked as a lawyer at Alston & Bird, vice president of Merrill Lynch Mortgage Lending, an advisor at Seyfarth Shaw and a lawyer at Pryor Cashman Sherman & Flynn and Sullivan and Worcester. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney for Kings County in Brooklyn, New York.
Sinatra holds a Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and International Business from New York University.

DLP Real Estate Capital promoted Scott Meyers President of DLP Lending.
Meyers has over 18 years of experience in real estate, mortgage bond investing, servicing and investment lending. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Sales for DLP Lending.
In her new leadership role, Meyers will drive the company’s growth through loan products and membership programs for clients and luxury home operators.
As part of his role, he will oversee the launch of the DLP Lending affiliate program. In addition, it will contribute to the growth and development of the DLP Credit Service Division.

Sadie McKeown, executive vice president and head of construction finance at The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), was appointed by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to serve on the boards of directors New York City Housing Finance Agency (HFA) and New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
Her appointment was confirmed by the New York State Senate.
McKeon has worked for CPC for almost three decades and currently leads the company’s construction lending activities. She also oversees its sustainability practice, the ACCESS Foundation to strengthen and support BIPOC developers and real estate entrepreneurs, and CPC’s partnership with New York State to provide COVID relief funding to small apartment owners.
These appointments are an extension and recognition of the work done by CPC under Sadie’s leadership as HFA works to finance low- and middle-income rental housing and NYSERDA promotes energy efficiency and renewable energy use.

EisnerAmpere announced that Mark Brown joined the firm as Managing Director of Forensics, Litigation and Valuation Practice.
Brown has 25 years of experience in economic, accounting and financial analysis, providing forensic services across various business sectors, and assisting private equity firms in providing forensic services to portfolio companies.
His experience also includes the development of compliance programs, gap analysis and risk assessment, including measures to combat fraud and bribery.
Brown holds a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Toronto, an MBA from Cornell University, and a JD from Windsor University. He is a Certified Fraud Investigator and is a member of the New York, Ontario and American Bar Associations.

ShopOne REIT Centers appointed an experienced state REIT leader Michael Makinen as chief operating officer.
Makinen, with over 25 years of industry experience and prior to joining ShopOne, served as Chief Operating Officer at SITE Centers, where he was responsible for the operations and financial results of the company’s 151 properties, as well as the external management of Retail Value Inc. owner of discount malls throughout the continental US and Puerto Rico, which was spun off from SITE Centers in July 2018.
Makinen also served as Chief Operating Officer at Equity One, Inc. and Olshan Properties, Inc., and also held senior management positions at United Retail Group – Avenue Stores, Linens’ n Things, Inc., Thompson Associate, Inc. and Howard. L. Green and Associates, Inc.

Sentinel Real Estate Corporation announced that Scott Barsky joined the firm as First Vice President.
Together with Managing Director Scott Arden, he will lead the company’s capital raising and investor relations activities in North America.
Previously, Barsky spent almost 10 years at Torchlight Investors, a real estate investment manager in the United States, where he was Vice President of the Investor Relations Group. He began his career at Bank of America, where he worked in the risk management business.
Barsky holds a BA in Economics and History from the University of Virginia and is a member of the Retirement Real Estate Association.

Gray stone announced that Alison Cohen Joined the position of Senior Managing Director of the CMBS Lending Group in New York.
With 25 years of experience in the CRE industry, Cohen moved to Greystone from Barclays, where she was managing director. Prior to joining Barclays, Cohen served as a director at Natixis Real Estate Finance, and previously spent nearly six years at Citigroup, where she worked in the large loans securitization group and as a lender.
Cohen holds a BA in Accounting from the University of Illinois.

Brandon Polakoff was appointed chief and executive officer of investment sales in three states in Avison Young.
Polakoff served as Senior Director of the Tri-State Investment Sales Group for the past three years.
His most recent high-profile deals include the $ 31.5 million build of three apartments at 190, 196 and 198 Prince Street; 344-348 East 62nd Street for $ 35.5 million and 109 Avenue A for $ 20.75 million.
Polakoff works with James Nelson, director and head of investment for three states. This year he was shortlisted for the NYC Real Estate Board’s Most Ingenious Deal of the Year Award for managing a sale at 198 Prince Street. Last year, Avison Young included him in its 2020 Best Producers Circle of Excellence.
Prior to Avison Young, Polakoff was Associate Director of Investment Sales at Cushman & Wakefield.

Based in El Segundo, California, Capasso has over 30 years of experience providing valuation and consulting services for hotels and casinos.
Prior to joining Newmark, Capasso spent 17 years in Valuation and Consulting at Cushman & Wakefield, most recently serving as Executive Director and Practice Leader for North America in the Hospitality and Gaming Group, managing the Valuation Team. Prior to that, he worked for HVS Gaming Services for nine years.
