Walker & Dunlop acquires Zelman & Associates

Walker & Dunlop has completed the acquisition of Zelman & Associates, a research and investment banking firm with offices in New York and Ohio.

Zelman’s team and her research and advisory capabilities in the housing sector will support many of Walker & Dunlop’s strategic growth initiatives, including expanding the real estate sales platform, growing its core debt finance business, and developing investment banking opportunities.

Walker & Dunlop aims to grow its real estate sales platform to $ 25 billion by 2025 and is also focused on expanding its debt financing business to $ 65 billion a year by 2025.

This growth will be driven in part by increased demand for single family rentals (SFR) and construction finance for rent (BFR), an area where Zelman’s insights and customer relationships are unmatched in the industry.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome the Zelman team to Walker & Dunlop,” said Chairman and CEO Willie Walker.

By combining our data with Zelman’s own research, market research and analytics, we will generate even more actionable insights that will further differentiate us in the marketplace and make us a more valuable partner to our customers. ”
