COLOMBIA, Mon. – () –United Veterans Housing Loans, the nation’s largest VA purchasing lender, is teaming up with Marine Corps actor and veteran Rob Riggle to help educate veterans and military personnel on their VA home loan benefits.

New commercial campaigns featuring Riggle strive to ensure that veterans understand the power of what they have earned. Veterans can buy homes without needing a down payment or sky-high credit ratings due to their VA loan benefits. A separate video series focuses on Riggle’s interactions with real veteran home buyers who have chosen Veterans United.

Campaigns are currently streaming on Hulu, connected TV, YouTube and social media.

“We are thrilled to be working with a talented actor who also knows what it means to serve,” said Chris Farmer, Chief Marketing Officer for Veterans United. “Education is at the core of what we do. We hope that working with Rob to raise awareness of this longstanding home loan benefit will help a new generation of veteran homeowners. ”

Riggle served 23 years, including assignments to Albania, Kosovo, Liberia and Afghanistan. Before retiring as a lieutenant colonel, he was awarded more than 21 medals and ribbons, including the Combat Action ribbon.

“Veterans United has an unrivaled reputation for helping veterans use their home loans to buy homes,” Riggle said. “I am proud to support a company that is dedicated to serving those who have donated so much to our country.”

VA loan use has skyrocketed since the Great Recession, but millions of veterans and military personnel continue to be overlooked. Myths and misconceptions about what it takes to get a mortgage are a serious reason.

Earlier this year, Veterans United released its Veteran Home Buyer Report 2021who found that:

  • Nearly 90 percent of veterans believe they need a minimum of 670 FICO points to qualify for a home loan.

  • About 4 in 10 think they have to save more than 20 percent

  • Only 3% of veterans say you can buy a home for $ 0.

These misconceptions keep many veterans and military personnel on the sidelines of home buying. The reality is their hard earned VA loan allowance is making home ownership affordable right now.
