Tunnel to Towers Foundation Helps With Sgt Damon Gutzwiller’s Family Home Mortgage Payments

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (CION) – A foundation that helps the families of law enforcement officers who died helped pay off the mortgage for Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller’s family home.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation donated funds to the Sergeant. Gutzwiller’s wife, Faviola Del Real, and her two children in a private ceremony.

Sergeant. Gutzwiller was shot and killed in ambush attack when he and other law enforcement officers investigated a suspicious vehicle in June 2020.

Gutzwiller’s wife Faviola Del Real made this statement in response to a gift from Tunnel to Towers: ““I really don’t have the words to say thank you, no one wants to be in this position, but it took a little stress off trying to figure out how to raise two young children.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Disaster Relief Program helps pay off mortgages to families of law enforcement and firefighters.

The program has its roots in the 9/11 attacks, when the founder’s brother, Stephen Siller, was killed while responding to the Twin Towers before they fell.

Frank Siller says Steven’s body was never found.

For 20 years, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has honored Stephen’s legacy by supporting heroes who continue to risk their lives and health in the line of duty.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the program, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has pledged to deliver 120 homes without mortgages to emergency responders by the end of the year.
