Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is close to joining Flamengo on loan with a € 20 million buy option.
The Brazilian side is negotiating terms with United and an agreement is expected soon.
Pereira will play for Flamengo until the end of June next year, subject to terms set between the clubs.
The 25-year-old moved to United in January 2012 from PSV Eindhoven. He made his first team debut in the League Cup in August 2014, coming on as a substitute when they lost 4-0 to MK Dons. Later that season, Pereira made his Premier League debut.
Since then, he has been on the sidelines, now on the sidelines, having made three temporary moves.
Pereira played 25 Premier League games in the 2019-2020 season but spent last season on loan at Lazio, scoring once in 26 matches.
Flamengo won the Brazilian Serie A in 2020. They are now fifth in the top flight, 10 points behind league leader Atletico Mineiro.
