Tottenham will lease Atalanta keeper Pierluigi Gollini | Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham is about to sign a highly acclaimed Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini received an initial loan with a purchase option for € 15 million (£ 13 million). The deal will mark the first for Spurs’ new football director Fabio Paratici, who sees 26-year-old football as the perfect deal for the present and the future.

The initial deal must be in the form of a loan for the 2021-2022 season, with the option of either a loan extension or a direct signature of the goalkeeper. There are still ongoing discussions about a possible purchase engagement if Gollini achieves certain goals during his first season. Paratici hopes the Italian will challenge Hugo Lloris for first place in Nuno Espiritu Santo’s first big season.

The goalkeeper, who spent two years at the Manchester United academy from 2012 to 2014 before moving to Verona and then to Aston Villa, has been a member of the Italian national team for several years now and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A.
