Boston real estate agent Christian Smith said he was “grateful” for wasting time on Bachelorette after not receiving a rose during this week’s episode, ending his journey to find love with bachelor Katie Thurston.

“The proposal didn’t go as planned,” he wrote. Instagram, next to a photo of him kneeling with Thurston.

The 26-year-old didn’t actually make a serious proposal to a bachelorette party, and the photo was taken from a previous group date.

However, fans were sad to see him leave.

“You were my favorite,” one person wrote. “I’m so upset.”

Another person suggested that he become the next bachelor, while others just made him know that they were single.

Fans have been asking the Boston resident for more screen time for weeks. But now that it’s over, Christian said he’s just grateful.

“I’m so grateful to have met Katie and experienced it all along with some of the best people,” he wrote on Instagram. “I wish Katie and my new friends all the best on this journey of finding love.”
