Texas Removes State Office Requirements For Home Mortgage Lenders | Weiner Brodsky Kider PC

Texas removes the requirement that a mortgage lender doing business in the state must have an office in the state. Previously, Texas required residential mortgage lenders to maintain either their headquarters or a branch in the state. Texas House Bill 3617 the main bill to amend the law, and Texas Senate Bill 1900 is a companion account. The change will take effect on September 1, 2021.
