The Texas Permanent School Foundation announced a $ 60 million (€ 50.2 million) contribution to the Warburg Pincus Asian Real Estate Fund.
According to sources, Warburg Pincus plans to raise $ 1.5 billion for a pan-Asian fund that targets a variety of strategies, including core and opportunistic investments.
Warburg Pincus, known for its investments in Asian countries such as China, Vietnam and India, has invested in various types of real estate in the past as part of its strategy for real estate in Asia, according to the manager’s website.
Previous investments included residential, hospitality, industrial, data center, parking and storage facilities.
Warburg Pincus declined a request for comment.
