Sporting KC lends Tyler Freeman to German Karlsruher SC




SKC reserves the right to withdraw an 18-year-old Athlete.

In October 2018, the product of the academy became second youngest player in sports history sign an MLS contract at 15 years old. He has scored six goals and one assists in 35 USL championship games for Sporting Kansas City II, their reserve team.

Freeman joined Sporting KC Academy in 2014 at the age of 11 and represented his hometown club at U-12 to U-19 levels before moving into the professional ranks.

Internationally, he competed for the United States at the U-14, U-16 and U-17 levels, in particular by participating in 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship along with Sporting teammate Gianluca Busio and helping the United States to finish second in the tournament.

Under the leadership of manager Christian Eichner, Karlsruher SC finished sixth in last year’s 2nd Bundesliga and kicked off the 2021-22 campaign with consecutive victories over Hansa Rostock and SV Darmstadt 98.
