Seminole County Opens Applications for Mortgage Emergency Assistance Program – WFTV



SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLA. – Seminole County is preparing to open its portal to apply for the emergency mortgage assistance program on Monday.

The program allows eligible Seminole County residents to receive grants for mortgage and / or utilities expenses after experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19.

The county said the $ 1.6 million program is being subsidized by a federal community development grant, Corona Virus (CDBG-CV).

Funding will be available for approximately 300 households and applicants are not required to return any funds received under the program.

Internet portal available at, will operate from 10:00 on July 12 until 500 applications are submitted. The district said that completed applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.

Assistance will be provided in connection with overdue unpaid mortgage and / or utility payments and one month’s estimated payments, pending needs, and availability of funding. Balances due before April 2020 are not eligible for assistance.
