San Antonio have added defender Mitchell Tintor on loan from Sacramento Republic for the 2021 season, the club said today. In addition, the SAFC also announced that it has loaned midfielder Emile Cuello to Republic for the remainder of the season. Both transactions are pending league and federation approval. According to the club’s policy, the terms of the loans were not disclosed.

So far in 2021, Tintor played 13 matches (nine starts), gaining 791 minutes played. The 26-year-old has a record of 34 assists, 18 interceptions, 45 duels won, 21 aerial duels won and 80.7% passing accuracy. Tintor has also added one goal, one assists and two key passes this season. While in the SAFC in 2020, the defender has played 15 of the club’s 16 regular season matches with 1,470 minutes, 68 clearances, 42 aerial matches won and 23 interceptions. Tintor also played all 120 minutes of the playoffs for the team.
Until 2020, Tintor had spent the previous two seasons with Sacramento in the USL Championship. Overall, in the 2018-19 season, Tintor played 64 matches (61 starts) between the regular season and the playoffs in the 2018-19 season, having accumulated 5,373 minutes, adding three goals, three assists, 258 clearances and 146 duels won. Originally selected by Toronto in the third round (59th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, Tintor signed with the USL Championship Toronto affiliate, where he played 47 matches in two seasons from 2016 to 17.
