Two weeks, two epic playoffs.

Just a week after the eight-hole playoffs in the Travelers Championship, another thrilling final awaited fans, this time through the three- and five-hole playoffs for the Rocket Mortgage Classic title.

Although American Troy Merritt and Chilean player Joaquin Niemann made it to the final round with an equal lead, Australian Cam Davis won the marathon this week, betting on the heads in the 71st round.st a hole in the playoff rules and eventually his first PGA TOUR win.

For Merritt, this week represents another solid entry on his 2021 resume, despite nearly missing out on his third TOUR title. In addition to leading the strong American contingent on the leaderboard, the T2 ranked runner-up Merritt has been in his top ten since May. His Detroit performance lifts Boise State alumni a whopping 20 spots in this week’s Ryder Cup rankings from 61.up to 41st

While the Top 12 remained unchanged, Jason Kokrak and Max Homa made a splash in the Top 20, moving up one spot to 15.th and 18th, respectively. Just outside of that bracket, Georgia’s Kevin Kisner jumped three spots out of 24.th up to 21st after finishing T8 at Detroit Golf Club.

Completing the big strides of the week is Brandon Hagey (up 10 positions to 59).th) and Hank Lebiod (moved up 11 positions to 75).th
