The Sacramento Republic announced Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired striker Jerome Kizewetter on loan for the remainder of the season from Tulsa FC, another USL franchise.

The move is an attempt to improve on the stalled attack of Sacramento, which have scored three goals in their last five games. Kiesewetter has not scored this year for Tulsa, but he is a seasoned Bundesliga, US national and MLS player.

“Jerome is a great addition for us. He is flawless in the box, runs vertically behind defense and is a constant threat, ”said Todd Dunivant, President and General Manager of Republic FC. “He brings a lot of experience to the club in the midst of the season, which will be a huge boost for our team.”

Kiesewetter played for the national team, at the MLS and USL levels. The Berlin-born dual-national striker has played for the US national team twice.

James Patrick has covered the beer scene from Maine to California. (Okay, mostly just these two.) He has worked for newspapers in six states as a sports reporter, sports editor, social media editor, and newspaper correspondent. He is as comfortable drinking High Life as wild-fermented raspberry sour.
