Serry County Sports Hall of Fame updated roster

The Sarri County Sports Hall of Fame and Hall of Fame have been working to immortalize the greatest local sports personalities ever since its first class was announced in 2006.

140 athletes, coaches, teams, administrators, and influential members of the district’s community have been honored as members of one of two exclusive groups.

Six people entered the Hall of Fame last year. The hall is dedicated to people and their achievements. The Hall of Fame includes many former college athletes, famous state coaches, some of whom are still active, and administrators who have helped popularize athletics of all kinds.

The Ring of Honor is open to individuals and groups. This includes record-breaking teams from the last century, as well as people who have promoted athletics outside of a coaching or administrative role.

Since 2015, Ring of Honor has introduced two new members annually, and before that – four a year. RoH currently has 40 members.

The Sarri County Parks and Recreation Department recently opened applications for the 2021 Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor classes. As the district seeks new faces to immortalize, we look back at those who were previously introduced into each category.
