Associated Companies is the latest novelty based in New York. real estate giant to crack down on employees who are not vaccinated

The Manhattan-based firm, which includes Hudson Yards in downtown Manhattan, told its 4,000 employees on Monday that if they have not yet been vaccinated, they will have to get at least one shot by August 31 or they will be fired.

The policy now extends to Related’s maintenance personnel, including doormen, cleaners and engineers, or about 3,000 employees who work in the company’s commercial and residential buildings, according to a company memo that was handed over to The Post.

According to company spokesman John Weinstein, the Related policy also extends to union employees, led by real estate tycoon Stephen Ross.

“To work for Related, you need to be vaccinated,” the note reads. “There are exceptions to this policy only for valid medical or religious reasons. [Human resources] will consider all requests for exemptions, and those granted exemptions will be required to undergo regular PCR testing. ”

The policy will also apply to employees at the Deutsche Bank Center in Manhattan – formerly the Time Warner Center – where Related operates stores in Columbus Circle.

Last week, the Durst Organization demanded that its corporate employees be vaccinated as a condition of their employment at the real estate firm, saying that its union employees would not yet be covered by the policy.

Companies across the country, including national chains such as Target and Walmart, are implementing new policies in response to the Delta option, which has caused a rise in infection and hospitalization rates. The company said Monday that Disney requires vaccinations for all salaried employees and all new employees.

Target said on Monday that employees in stores in “high-risk” counties will be required to wear masks, following a similar announcement from Walmart on Friday, in which the largest retailer said all store managers would have to be vaccinated by early October.
