Connecticut’s hot industrial real estate market, fueled by demand for last-mile warehouse space from e-commerce giants such as Amazon, has boosted the state’s economy, triggering job creation and new construction across the region.

And few have capitalized on a burgeoning industry like David Winstanley and his sons Adam and Carter.

The Massachusetts firm that owns family-owned real estate store Winstanley Enterprises LLC is the largest warehouse owner in Connecticut.

The family, which has offices in Hartford, New Haven, and Bristol, solidified their skills locally in 2020 by purchasing the former JC Penney distribution center in Manchester and spending $ 44 million on a pair of adjacent food distribution and storage locations. in South Windsor, which were later sold. off.

In April of this year, Winstanley announced that it had sold a portfolio of 11 properties tied to Stop & Shop, including three in Nutmeg State, for $ 295 million.

And recently, Amazon became the anchor tenant of the former Nabisco warehouse in Glastonbury, which Winstanley acquired in September 2020 for $ 4.4 million.

Meanwhile, Winstanley recently began construction on a $ 100 million biosciences tower in New Haven, which will add another 500,000 square feet of laboratory and biological incubation facilities in Elm City.
