Phoenix Rising left Phoenix Rising on Thursday.

Jeremy Kelly, who was used by manager Rick Schanz as both defender and midfielder, was withdrawn from his loan to the Colorado Rapids.

In addition, left-back Declan Wynn has been loaned to OKC Energy FC in the USL Eastern Conference Championship.

Wynn has not appeared in PRFC since signing in January earlier this year.

Kelly has started twice in his five games since joining Phoenix on loan in March.

The 23-year-old has one assists in five key assists with an 86.2% overall success rate (106 out of 123) in 245 minutes played.

Schanz used the ninth overall pick in MLS SuperDraft 2020 as a defender and – more recently – as a midfielder in his time in PRFC uniform.

However, since reported Eliminating Jamaica midfielder Kewon Lambert at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, losing Kelly at this stage of the USL Championship campaign won’t be such a big blow.

Kelly’s departure is also softened by the recent loan agreement to Valley native and MLS Real Salt Lake midfielder / defender Tate Schmitt, who already played left-back and number 10 under Schanz after joining the PRFC in June.

On Saturday night, Phoenix Rising hosts the LA Galaxy II at the Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, as well as fireworks after the Fourth of July match.

The event is scheduled to start at 19:30 and the live audio broadcast will continue. ArizonaSports.com and on Arizona Sports app
