SAINT PETERSBURG, June 4. (Reuters). Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday ordered the extension of the anti-crisis mortgage program by one year until July 2022, stating that state aid to support the construction sector and households cannot be stopped suddenly.
Russia is gradually phasing out anti-crisis programs introduced in 2020 to help the economy withstand the COVID-19 crisis, already raising interest rates amid high inflation. (Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin; script by Andrey Ostroukh; edited by John Boyle)
