West Bengal Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday approved Student credit card The scheme that Trinamool Congress promised in its campaign manifesto, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

A student can get a concessional loan up to 10 lakhs for higher education by credit card.

“Today the Cabinet of Ministers approved the student credit card scheme. Anyone who has spent 10 years in West Bengal can take advantage of its benefits. The loan will be available for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral studies in India or abroad. Banerjee told reporters.

She added that one person is eligible to participate in the program until the age of 40.

“The student will be given fifteen years to pay off the loan after he gets a job,” said the chief minister.

According to her, the program will be launched on June 30.
