The PGA Tour is bird season. The poor performance at the US Open gave a false sense of security as to how the next three weeks would play out. The pristine TPC River Highlands last week brought winners close to 20 under par. This week the tour heads to Detroit for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, where a winner can count on 20 par or even higher. It’s just weeks away from the next big event, The Open Championship, where the PGA DFS prize pools are expected to be huge again.
With many of the best in the world taking a few weeks off to prepare for the Open, this event will seem too difficult, especially given the reigning champion. Bryson DeShambeau this is the highlight.

Rocket Mortgage Classic PGA DFS Preview and Selection
Detroit Golf Club, designed by Donald Ross, provides a pleasant environment and is different from the haunted courses of Peter Dye. One hundred fifty-six players will have the opportunity to win this week on the famous course. It’s a full field as the FedEx Cup draws to a close and golfers don’t have many starts hovering around that 125 boundary to keep their jobs for next year.

The good result this week continues with par 72, which is just under 7,400 yards. This is relatively small for par 72, especially for the model not designed by Dye. Ross, unlike Dai, puts everything ahead and makes the players profit on the grass. Raised tees and bunkers are an important feature of Ross fields, as are the greens, which are usually run backwards. Because of this, being above the hole is usually not ideal.

PGA DFS Sweat Sheet for Rocket mortgage Classic
Forty eagles and just under 1900 birds are a lot for the DFS scoring. Bryson DeShambeau last year they had 146 points, nine golfers scored over 100 and 22 scored over 90. This adds variety to the competition, but fans of bird festivals will love this tournament. Only two holes in the entire course yielded fewer than 60 birds per week, which means that the scoring is balanced and no hole scores more than 10% of the points.

While there may not be a ton of top names, outside of DeChambeau and Patrick Reed, the field is evenly distributed: there are 36 of the top 100 players in the world. However, there will be many other celebrities in the game this year, including Hideki Matsuyama, Webb Simpson, Will Zalatoris, Joaquin Niemann as well as Matthew Wolf.

Since golf scores are largely uncorrelated between golfers outside of the weather, a good way to see the PGA DFS lineup is on the Express, in which you have to hit all 6 picks to get into the game. IN A tool for the best Awesemo golfer gives you the probability that every golfer will finish in the top 6, and their 25%, 50% and 75% scores as a guideline for how you can expect every golfer to perform in a tournament.
Garrick Higgo continues his performance in the PGA Tour. After winning the Palmetto a few weeks ago, he has become a fully exempt participant, which gives him the opportunity to play at any PGA Tour event. As with Colleen Morikawa as well as Matthew Wolf During the first year after the first victory, they played a lot, trying to figure out which courses are right for them.
Other big hitters such as Cameron Champ, Cameron Davis, Will Gordon and Niemann will take DeShambeau’s approach and try to overpower the course.
Renowned sponsor of the Rocket Mortgage Classic invites
- Davis Thompson: Thompson is 1-2 in his first two starts as a pro. He couldn’t get out of his way, playing his first nine holes in each of them with a total of 9. He fought each time, but last week that was not enough to get through the weekend.
- Austin Ekroat: Now that he is getting paid at a professional event 3 out of 3 – he has made about $ 60,000 in those weeks – Ekroat should feel comfortable this week.
- Willie Mac III: An incredible story written by Ryan Lavner on Golf Channel (Click here to read) tells stories about this young man who tried to succeed in professional golf. In addition to nearly dying in 2018, the story goes on to talk about his grinding, “competition for life.” This year, he was granted the Charles Sifford exception, making him the center of attention and telling his story.
