Darrell Plummer, broker / owner of Reno-based Sierra Nevada Properties, was recently appointed chairman of the Nevada Real Estate Commission, a five-member body appointed by Governor Steve Sisolak.
The Commission acts as an advisor to the Nevada Department of Real Estate, adopts the rules, and conducts disciplinary hearings. Plummer was first appointed to the commission on November 1, 2019; its three-year term will last until October 31, 2022, with the option of a second three-year term.
Plummer is a fourth generation Nevadanese. He graduated in 1984 from the University of Nevada at Reno with a degree in business administration, with a major in finance and economics. With experience as a trustee at First Interstate Bank of Nevada (now Wells Fargo) and as Director of Economic Development at Sierra Pacific Power (NV Energy), he joined Plummer & Associates in 1995.
He took over as broker / owner in January 2001. In 2013, the company became Sierra Nevada Properties with offices in Reno, Fallon and Fearnley and over 115 real estate agents.
Plummer holds multiple real estate titles, including CRB, ePro and GRI, was Dean of the Nevada Realtors Association Leadership Program and co-founder of the Board of Trustees program.
