Milan on Wednesday signed striker Pietro Pellegri on loan from AS Monaco.
Milan said the deal includes the option to make the signing permanent, which becomes a commitment subject to certain unspecified conditions.
Pellegri, 20, is Milan’s second striker this offseason after the Rossoneri invited 34-year-old Chelsea’s Olivier Giraud.
Pellegri became the youngest player to make his Serie A debut when he played for Genoa in 2016 at the age of 15 years and 280 days – a figure later beaten by Wizdom Amey. Five months later, he became the first player born in the 21st century to score a goal in the top five European leagues.
He moved to Monaco in January 2018, but due to injuries he only played 23 matches. He scored two goals.
Pellegri also played one match for Italy, coming on as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Estonia in a friendly last November.
