Optimal Blue’s Chazz Houston on digital mortgage lending

Today’s HousingWire Daily This episode includes a transitional episode of the HousingWire’s Housing News podcast. In this issue, HousingWire Editor-in-Chief Sarah Wheeler interviews Chazz Houston, Strategic Alliance Manager at Optimal blue.

During the episode, Houston and Wheeler discuss where the mortgage industry is currently in the digital revolution.

Here’s a small preview of the interview, which has been slightly edited for clarity:

Sarah Wheeler: So, one of the things I’ve heard Black Knight say they want to make the Optimal Blue product and pricing engine useful to the industry. What exactly does this mean?

Chazz Houston: It really has always been Optimal Blue. Part of Black Knight’s goal is to be the engine of the industry. We want our customers to have full opportunity and flexibility to make their product and price affordable wherever they choose, we want to make it as easy as possible. Lenders should be able to quote their product and price because that’s really what it all boils down to, it’s their product and price in whatever solution they use. We want to continue to make it effective for them. Hopefully this will allow them to spend more time building, less time figuring out which solutions work together, less time figuring out how to integrate those solutions. And indeed, mortgage software should be ready to use right out of the box.
