Conor Gallagher has moved to Crystal Palace on loan for the 2021-22 season, this has been confirmed.
The 21-year-old is making a short tour of London to complete his season transfer to the Eagles.
Gallagher will join Patrick Vieira’s squad this upcoming season, joining former Blue Mark Guei in the Palace squad.
Palace fought off stiff competition from Leeds United and Newcastle United to get Gallagher to wear a numbered jersey.
Chelsea allowed the midfielder to leave for more Premier League minutes, while Thomas Tuchel impressed the 21-year-old in the preseason.
However, with so much competition in his area, it is important that Gallagher go and play as much football as possible before returning to Stamford Bridge after the lease expires.
What has been said?
Gallagher said: “I am very happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started, I am glad the deal has exceeded the line.
“I spoke with the manager, I liked what he said, I liked how he wants to play, how he wants me to play and how he wants the team to play. I feel like I can learn from him and the players around me. “
Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish said: “I am delighted that Conor has decided to come to Crystal Palace on loan for the season after some impressive performances in the Premier League last season. We are really looking forward to his joining the team as we continue to build our path for the new season. ”
