Chelsea defender Baba Rahman has signed on loan with Reading, both clubs have confirmed.
The left-back is not part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for Chelsea and has moved to the second division for this season.
Both clubs confirmed their move.
Ghanaian signed a £ 23.4m deal with the Blues from Augsburg Bundesliga and was primarily used as a team player in his first season in the Premier League during his first season in the blue.
However, in other seasons, Rahman did not have much of a chance, and he spent several spells away from Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea defender recorded an assist in the preseason against Bournemouth, delivering an excellent serve to Armando Broch at the finish line.
However, it seems that this was not enough and he will be allowed to leave Chelsea in this window.
PAOK was interested in lending to Rahman again this season after a successful loan in Greece in the last campaign, but Reading beat them before signing.
The defender will be a key part of the championship.
As part of the move, Rahman has renewed his contract with Chelsea and the Blues will be looking to collect the player’s royalties next summer.
