Liverpool fans hoping for a little late drama on the day of the deadline and perhaps even latecomers are likely to fall asleep disappointed tonight, but at least one Liverpool winger has a departure in search of game time to report.
A few minutes before summer transmission window slamming shut, the Reds announced that 24-year-old Sheyi Ojo would join the Millwall Championship in the 2021-22 season. This is, to put it mildly, potentially interesting landing site.
Ojo joined the Liverpool academy from MK Dons at age 14 for a rumored £ 2million, but ten years later he played only 13 first team matches, with 11 of them taking place in 2015/16 as Reds. dropped to 8th place.
He also spent time on loan over the years in the Wigan, Wolverhampton, Fulham and Cardiff championships, and left England to spend a season with Reims in France and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.
With a contract with Liverpool running until 2023, Ojo will return to the club next summer when his lease is completed, and the club will expect to look again for a permanent home for the once highly publicized winger.
