Odisha FC leases Malaysian Lyridon Krasniki



Indian Super League club Odisha FC on Monday announced it had reached an agreement with Malaysian side Johor Darul Tazim on loan to midfielder Lyridon Krasniki.

Krasniki will represent Bhubaneswar’s side in the upcoming eighth edition of ISL.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder began his career in Europe and made his top professional debut for FC Mlada Boleslav in Czech in 2011 before signing Turkish club Ankaraspor. It was loaned to another club in Turkey – Fetiespor.

Krasniki moved to Malaysia in 2015 he played for the football club “Kedah Darul Aman”. He also won 2016 Malaysia Cup and 2017 Malaysia FA Cup titles for Kedah before signing with Melaka United in 2019. In the previous season Krasniki was electrocuted Malaysia Super League Champions Johor Darul Ta’zim and then introduced Australian side Newcastle Jets in the A-League on loan at the beginning of 2021.

Krasnika has a unique achievement – he represents three national teams. After playing for Albanian up to 21 sides and Kosovo senior team, he made his debut for Malaysian senior national team earlier this year.

After signing with the club, he said: “I hope this will be a great season under the guidance of head coach Kiko Ramirez. I can’t wait to start and meet my teammates at OFC. We will try to please all Odisha fans at the upcoming ISL tournament. ” Ramirez added: “Lyridon will give us character, attitude and strength. He is a player with high physical capabilities and good technique. “He is a midfielder who can help us both offensively and defensively and will give us the energy the team needs to fight for the full 90 minutes.”
