Non-profit organization paid off mortgage loan to the family of the deceased employee of the BRPD

BATON ROUGE – A nonprofit organization that supports the families of first responders killed in the line of duty has helped the family of Baton Rouge police officer Shane Totti.

On Friday Tunnels to Towers Foundation announced that he had paid off the mortgage on his family’s house.

Totti was killed in February 2019 after hit by a vehicle accompanying the funeral procession on his police motorcycle.

“My husband was my support, and our daughter was my support. While nothing and no one can bring it back, and the days are not always easy to get through, the Tunnel to the Towers home program gives us a sigh of relief. This Foundation has taken off one big stress as we continue to learn and navigate this new life without our identity, in our home. It is a blessing and no words can express our gratitude, ”said Catherine Hope, Totti’s fiancée.

The same foundation helped the family of another BRPD officer earlier this year. In January, he paid off the mortgage to the family Glenn Hatto Jr.killed while arresting a murder suspect.
