Mortgage Co. Nutter Home Loans Can’t Avoid Fraud Lawsuit



Law360 (June 15, 2021, 5:58 pm ET) – A Missouri federal judge rejected mortgage lender James B. Nutter & Co.’s offer. dismiss a False Claims Act filed against him by the federal government, finding that at this stage the government has sufficiently stated that the company has committed fraud.

U.S. District Judge Roseanne A. Ketchmark said on Monday in her ruling that the Federal Housing Administration paid millions of dollars in insurance premiums on loans approved by the Kansas City-based Nutter home loans from 2008 to 2010. A lot of these claims are allegedly related to false certificates, according to the order.
