PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Homeowners and tenants, be careful: payment and eviction protections introduced during the pandemic will soon end.

The moratorium on the collection of a mortgage loan is due to end on July 31, 2021. The federal moratorium on evictions will also end on this day.

But there are measures that can help you, including a new online tool released by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Finding rental assistance

It is designed to help consumers find and apply for assistance easily. This tool also helps family homeowners.

The feds are also working on a tool for the Homeowners Assistance Fund. About two million homeowners are still under some form of mortgage deferral.

And Philadelphia leaders are reminding those in need to apply for COVID-19. COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program

It offers an average of $ 6,000 per applicant to avoid utility shutdowns and evictions. The city claims to have used 70 percent of its available funds from the state so far. That’s $ 122 million for landlords and tenants.

Remember, an eviction cannot take place without a court order, and several things must happen before foreclosure can begin.
