MEDFORD, Oregon – The Medford Hospice received a special gift from a local couple. The organization is the only specialized hospice care facility in Southern Oregon.
Celia’s home in Holmes Park received a generous donation from the Meese Foundation. The fund’s gift is more than $ 342,000 towards the repayment of the mortgage. The donors, Jed and Celia Miz, have a background in healthcare. Celia’s House told NBC5 that the couple have been with the organization since the beginning.
“They saw [as] we do, the end of life is really meaningful, valuable, unique and needs to be treated like something truly precious, ”said Julie Rafield, director of development.
As COVID-19 increases the budget for a nonprofit organization, donating is one less stressor.
