Matt Miazga secured loan transfer to Deportivo Alavés

Matt Miazga is on the road again. V USMNT The center-back continues his European football tour when La Liga team Deportivo Alaves announced that they have acquired Miagza on loan from Chelsea

Alaves is looking for reinforcements on the defensive as they finished the 2020-21 campaign in 16th place with four points before relegation. In large part, this was due to their weak defense, which scored 57 goals, which was the third-worst result in the league.

The 2021-2022 season started off hard for Alaves as they had to face real Madrid in their opening season. Their defense failed again in a 4-1 defeat. Miazga joins Florian Lejouen and Victor Laguardia as the main center-back options. Lejouen was rented from Newcastle last season and the club were happy enough with his performance to close a permanent deal for him this summer. Victor Laguardia made a solid start last year for Los Babasorros, starting 31 appearances. Both of the current couple are in their early 30s, so age can be a factor. However, they started their first leg against Real Madrid over 23-year-old Thaci, who played for the club last season and saw limited playing time.

La Liga becomes Miazgi’s seventh league stop, having previously played in the Premier League, EFL Championship, Dutch Eredivisie, French Ligue 1, Jupiler Belgian Professional League and Major League Soccer. In La Liga, Miazgi will have the opportunity to fight his compatriot Serginho Dest from the United States. Barcelona football club and Yunus Musa from FC Valencia, as well as his little buddy an old friend of Diego Laines from Real Betis.

What do you think about the move? Is it a good opportunity for Miazgi to take another step in the big leagues, or is it too late for the center-back? Check out the comments section below and let us know.
