Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is set to join Norwich City on a seasonal loan in the coming days.
The England U21 will be Norwich’s second and last domestic loan in the new Premier League season, following the arrival of Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour earlier this summer.
The deal is close, but United are looking to spend the weekend at Southampton before officially sanctioning the move, and Alex Telles is still struggling to get back into full shape after injury.
While they initially sought a loan fee of £ 2m for the departure of the 20-year-old, it is clear that Norwich is playing well below that amount.
Williams was on the bench when United beat Leeds 5-1 on Saturday to become the seventh player to sign Norwich over the summer. He may make his debut in the second round of their EFL Cup, which will attend the Bournemouth championship on Tuesday night.
