MADE! Tottenham Announces Signing of Pape Matar Sarr Loan Contract

It’s over! After Fabrizio Romano has done his job, Tottenham Hotspur announced their fourth signing this summer. 18-year-old Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has officially joined Tottenham Hotspur from Metz and will return to Ligue 1 for the entire 2021-22 season.

The six-year deal is reportedly worth € 15 million with some significant performance-related add-ons that, if implemented, could significantly increase his future salary.

We’ve talked about this before, but while Sarr won’t officially join Tottenham until next summer, he has a tremendous talent that can develop into an incredible Premier League footballer. This is the young player that Spurs should be targeting in the painful restructuring process.

Another year of playing in Ligue 1 will be good for his development, as well as the fact that he will work with a system that he knows well and with which he is comfortable. And that extra year will likely make it easier for him to transition to the harsh conditions of Premier League football. We will closely follow his year in Metz.

Welcome to Tottenham, Big Paper! (No one really calls him that.)
