Luka Modric reports ‘helpful’ hint of Gareth Bale transfer after Tottenham loan

Former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric has suggested that Gareth Bale may have a future at Real Madrid.

The Welshman spent last season on loan in north London and ended up having a productive period, scoring 16 goals in all competitions.

His future has continued to be questioned since Spurs fans that he should be returned to the club on a permanent basis.

However, Real Madrid’s new boss Carlo Ancelotti suggested that Bale could potentially stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, stating that he would “return”.

A striker’s team-mate in both north London and Madrid, Modric gave his take on the Welshman’s destination, suggesting he has yet to play against the Spanish giants.

Talking to speakHorvath, who is preparing to face England at Euro 2020, said: “I don’t know what will happen in the new season.

“He’s a great guy and we spent many years together at Spurs and Madrid. It was a great time with him.

“Hopefully we will meet at this tournament later. This will mean that we will both go through our groups and beyond. Let’s see what will happen in the new season.

“Gareth played well with Carlo. [Ancelotti] for the first time, and if Gareth is motivated and hungry for football, he can be of use to Real Madrid. “

Bale still has a year before the end of his contract with Real Madrid, who joined the Spanish giants in a record transfer from Spurs in 2013.

He previously admitted that he will have to negotiate with the newly appointed Ancelotti after Euro 2020 to decide where his future is.
