BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – Disaster Loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are available to residents of Birmingham and Jefferson County and businesses affected by Tropical Storm Claudette on June 19, 2021.

These are low interest loans for businesses, non-profit organizations, homeowners and tenants. The deadline for filing claims for physical damage is September 20, 2021. The deadline for filing applications for economic damage is April 22, 2022.

The following loans are available:

• Business Disaster Loans — Loans to businesses to repair or replace disaster-damaged business assets, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery and equipment. Companies of any size are allowed. Private non-profit organizations such as charities, churches, private universities, etc. are also eligible to participate.
