Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn has joined the Scottish Premier League Hearts on an all-season loan.
Woodburn, who joined Liverpool’s academy as an under-7 player, has garnered serious interest in recent weeks from a number of clubs in Greece, Denmark and Croatia, as well as the championship.
However, Harts managed to strike a deal with Woodburn, who is now entering the final year of his Anfield deal.
Speaking on the official Hearts website, manager Robbie Neilson said: “I am very glad this is over. Ben is a top-notch player with Premier League and international experience and he really wanted to join us.
“He is an amazing player who I think will fit perfectly into our style of play. It is fast, straightforward and can offer us different options in the last third.
“I look forward to working with him and hope he will be successful here at Hearts.”
As Athletic It was recently reported that some at Liverpool were reluctant to let Woodburn leave unless the opportunity presented itself. This reluctance stems from how much the Welsh footballer impressed Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool coaching staff in the preseason.
Assistant Coach Pep Lainders, in particular, has been a huge fan and is believed to be in favor of the player staying. It is believed that Woodburn was helped to increase the intensity of his training in the summer.
