Liverpool defender Ben Davis has been loaned to Sheffield United for the season.
Athletic reported this move on Sunday and it is understood that the transaction is an outright loan with no buy option. Liverpool will provide a loan commission and a promotion bonus if Davis helps Sheffield United return to the Premier League.
Davis told the club’s website: “I am very happy to be here. As I walked in, I had good, exciting feelings. When I entered the building, everyone was very friendly.
“I always liked Sheffield United as a club when I played against them. I like the manager, I like the way he plays football and we have great players here. I think we have a great chance to get back upstairs.
“I like the way his (Jokanovic) team plays football, he has good results in the championship. I think it fits well, and I hope I can fit into his plans. “
The 26-year-old center-back also attracted interest from Celtic and Bournemouth, but settled on Bramall Lane, becoming Slavisha Jokanovic’s first manager as Sheffield United manager.
