Liverpool FC women sign goalkeeper Katie Startup on loan

Liverpool Women announced Signing goalkeeper Katy Startup for the 2021-22 season at Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday.

The 22-year-old will join Rachel Lowes and Riley Foster in the goalkeeper camp and has extensive experience in the FA Women’s League, having spent time at both Charlton Athletic and Brighton.

The startup has already trained with women on the sunny campus and is looking forward to its next adventure as the seventh new contract signed by returning manager Matt Beard.

“It’s really great to be part of the change at the club with Matt and see where this group can take us,” Startup said.

“This is a really friendly group and the quality of the teaching is excellent. Before signing, I had a really positive talk with Matt and goalkeeping coach Joe, so I knew it was going to be good.

“I really like it already. Obviously it was a positive campaign last season and hopefully this year we can take one or two steps further. “

While it is unclear how many actual minutes of play time she will get, she will be able to ask the two senior guardians about Lowes and Foster what she can carry with her throughout her career.

“I already have a lot of experience in the championship, and I think I can pass it on to the team, and they can help me improve my game,” continued the goalkeeper.

“I am delighted to be working with Rachel and Riley and I hope we can help each other as much as we can.”

IN Liverpool FC Women will kick off their promotion campaign next weekend, August 29, with a match at Prenton Park against London City Lionness.
