Kindergarten Secures SBA Loan to Purchase Third Property

Maria Woodhouse of Bright Stars Academy Daycare LLC has acquired 142 Thompson Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut for her third kindergarten in the area, said John Angel, president of Angel Commercial, LLC, a commercial real estate firm based in Southport, Connecticut.

The property was purchased for $ 700,000 from Bonvini Dental Laboratory Inc., which has occupied the building since it was built in 1974.

Bright Stars Academy Daycare LLC, operating as the Bright Giggles Learning Center, has additional kindergartens at 789 Fairfield Avenue and 2004 East Main Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut and has been providing services to infants, toddlers and preschoolers since 2014.

“Despite the recent rise in the number of people working from home due to COVID-19, there is a growing need for quality day care,” said Angel, who represented the seller on the deal.

“The property was purchased with an SBA loan at a very turbulent time for our economy.” An SBA loan is a small business loan that provides better terms for the borrower and removes some of the risks of a financial institution as it is partially guaranteed by the government through the Small Business Administration.

Located in one of Connecticut’s corporate zones that provides tax incentives for eligible businesses, this facility is a 5,000 square meter one-story building on 0.65 acres of land in an office / retail area. The hotel is located off Highway 8, which connects to Highway 25, I-95 and Merritt Boulevard. It is five minutes from North Bridgeport Metro Station.
