Kansas City loaned goalkeeper to Danish team



KANSAS CITY, Kansas – Kansas City The NWSL has announced that the club has loaned goalkeeper Carly Nelson to FC Nordsjalland of the Danish Super League, Denmark’s top division.

In addition, Kansas City took advantage of its NWSL contract option until the end of the 2022 season. The lease starts immediately and will last until the FC Nordsjalland season.

The Lyndon, Utah native made her NWSL debut in Kansas City on July 23. Nelson earned her first clean sheet of the match when Kansas City fought to a goalless draw with the North Carolina Courage.

Nelson was signed by Kansas City on December 23, 2020. Prior to that, she was a member of OL Reign (2019-2020) and Utah Royals (2020). Collegiately, Nelson starred at the University of Utah, where she held 10 blank slates as a senior and was included in the third All-Pac 12 team.
