Chelsea outlaw David Zappacosta delivered his Serie A loan verdict during the previous two campaigns.
The Italian was included in the Blues’ traveling squad for their preseason tour to Ireland.scoring four goals and two assists in 25 appearances in all competitions while on loan at Genoa last season.
“Closer to the beginning of the season (2020/21), I contracted the coronavirus, and after that I got injured, so I started playing in December,” said the 29-year-old as quoted Chelsea Official Website…
“But for me it was a good season because I scored four goals and it was good because we (Genoa) were fighting for relegation and when I came back in December we had seven points, but I’m really happy that the team finished in the middle of the table. It was a tough season, but a good one. “
After spending two seasons on loan in the Italian top flight, Zappacosta returned to pre-season training at Chelsea ahead of a new campaign.
He added: “I’ve been in Italy for a long time, so it’s really nice to come back here and work with some old friends and coach (Thomas Tuchel) because he’s a really good coach and we’re just trying to do what he asks of us.
“It’s pretty difficult in preseason, but right now it’s a good push to get ready for the start of the league. And that push changes gear today as the team plays in the stadium with the added enthusiasm of the audience.
“We know we have a lot of players on loan, so it’s not easy to play all together right now, but we’re trying our best to play our best.”
It was recently reported that Inter are considering moving to Zappacostawho swapped Torino for Chelsea in 2017 to replace Achraf Hakimi, who recently completed a permanent move to Paris Saint-Germain.
