A women-owned real estate firm was rare in 1975, but Isabelle was determined.

She jumped both feet into the dream of owning her own real estate firm and bought an old two-room gas station in Urbanna, Virginia. A few years later, Isabelle built a two-story brick building that remains the headquarters to this day.
Isabelle’s passion for real estate, her hard work and dedication to her family became the foundation of this family firm. We often heard her say: “Do what you love and do it well.” This advice impressed Isabelle’s granddaughter Cathy Horsley Dew. She and her husband David are now third-generation business leaders with four offices and over thirty agents.

“We love what we do,” says Katie emphatically. “We are so fortunate to be able to share our little slice of heaven with others and help them invest in improving the quality of life for their families.”
This little piece of paradise and hidden gem is better known as the Middle Peninsula and the North Isthmus, a rural region of the southern Chesapeake Bay located on the west coast of Virginia. Some call it the land of God, and anyone lucky enough to visit some of the quaint seaside villages such as Urbanna, Deltaville, White stone, Kilmarnock, Irvington, or Matthews is likely to agree. Small-town charm abounds, fresh seafood is caught daily from the family marina, and kids spend more time outdoors than electronics. “It’s a quality of life that is hard to find elsewhere,” says Katie.
Many of Horsley’s clients come from big cities like DC and Richmond and immediately fall in love with the natural beauty and slowness. This, combined with the pandemic, has resulted in record sales of waterfront homes and made the buying process more competitive.
“It’s now more important than ever to work with a local expert who lives, works and plays in the same area,” says Kathy. As a lifelong North Neck resident who was literally born in the industry, it would be difficult to find a real estate firm more knowledgeable in this area.
