Best advice for new agents: Be consistent with your habits. Most agents have a hard time keeping their pipeline full, so consistent lead generation habits are paramount.

What trends are you currently seeing in the local market?
We are at the heart of an unprecedentedly low inventory vendor market, which I believe is the norm in most markets across the country today. In addition, the increase in average and average selling price we are seeing creates a multi-offering environment, highlighting the importance of working with our agents to stay ahead of the competition. To that end, we offer advanced listing training and focus on tools that benefit sellers so that they can sell their homes where they would not normally be able to. We are also focused on programs for builders and investors – and we win deals with our Guaranteed Sale Date program, which ensures builders that buyers will close their home the day they say they will.

How has COVID affected your business over the past year? I’d be lying if I said it hurts. JPAR – Sears Group is a brokerage company with a two-year history, and although COVID has slowed our growth a little, it has also had an unexpected impact on our market. I believe COVID has created the current low interest rate market. This, combined with the psychological effect of people getting stuck at home and deciding they want to move, has given us some business growth.

What was it about JPAR that attracted you the most and led to your decision to partner with them? The tools they provide to agents to empower them are unmatched. In fact, they are the best I’ve ever seen. Although I could go anywhere, I chose JPAR because of this. Second, JPAR’s culture of agent empowerment and service is the same as mine.

You are one of the most successful and fastest growing JPAR franchise owners. What has led to your success over the years?
Sequence. Our success is largely due to the fact that we look for agents day after day and help them build themselves. It all comes down to the fact that if you’re always helping agents, you’re going to bring them in. However, our agents are the biggest key to our growth because they always turn to other agents simply because they enjoy working where they are.

What are you most looking forward to on the road to the future? I look forward to making JPAR the # 1 company in Houston in terms of transactions per agent per year. This has always been our vision and we are on our way to achieving it.
