PChylanthropy has been a cornerstone of real estate firm Nancy Almodovar almost since its founding in 2014, so it’s no surprise that on the occasion of a recent birthday, the glamorous business leader asked guests to support the Houston Women’s Center in lieu of birthday gifts. In fact, Almodovar will chair the HAWC leadership campaign in 2021.

“Supporting local businesses has been a priority for our company from day one, and my husband Jose and I are very passionate about it,” says Almodovar. “Houstonians are such generous and helpful people. This is what makes our city so wonderful.
“I’ve always loved celebrating birthdays, and the opportunity to showcase other local businesses and support the incredible work of the Houston Women’s Center was the icing on the cake.”
Billed as a Sip & Socialize event, arrivals were greeted by a vintage Jo’s Mobile Mini at this tiered party. Italian Piaggio Ape, distributes mimosas to the future very cheerful troupe. The music of the Divisi Strings quartet filled the open plan of the house, where huge balloons cascaded down the stairs, and flowers from Arte & Design added color and luscious aromas to the environment. Talkative mouse provided a generous abundance of snacks and sweets.
The party was an interesting balance of community service that has long inspired Almodovarov. Most recently, in February, the company launched the Nan Supports Local Initiative, which took effect after winter storm Uri… The company commissioned its recently acquired Nan Wan to deliver about 1,400 meals to Houston residents affected by the historic ice storm.
For several years, Nan and Company has been organizing a toy ride and mega party at a local elementary school.
