The late billionaire’s Hampton Lair is looking for its next wealthy owner.
The exclusive Georgica Pond in Waynescott houses the longtime home of developer Sheldon Solow, who died in November at the age of 92 with a fortune north of $ 4 billion. The estate is on display 70 million dollars, according to the eye-popping update of Out East real estate portal.
Wall Street Magazine first reported News.
Solow was best known for namesake Solow Building at 9 W. 57th St. Midtown is a 50-story office tower whose facades form striking slopes at street level. He bought some 14 acres of property in Waynescott for $ 19.5 million in 2006, according to the magazine, and the main shingle house was completed around 2010.
This approximately 10,000-square-foot dwelling includes a double-height entrance foyer, a family room that opens onto a glazed veranda through French doors, a dining room with a fireplace, an open kitchen with a breakfast area, and a solarium with a wet bar – throughout the lower level where there is home theater and gym.
As it stands, the main house has six bedrooms, but can accommodate a total of 10. The main suite has a spacious dressing room, a living room with a fireplace, a bathroom and a private balcony.
Elsewhere on site, there is a heated pool with pond views, a pool house and a separate three-car garage. The listing notes that the area could probably be split into a second home with space for its own pool, a pool house, and a tennis court.
Kyle Roscoe, Marcy Brown, Paul Brennan, and Martha Gundersen of Douglas Elliman have the list.
