Helping Wisconsin Homeowners Who Don’t Get Mortgages Pay Taxes

Madison (WQOW) – Gov. Tony Evers says $ 92.7 million will be allocated to help homeowners who delay payments.

The money is part of a new program called the Wisconsin Help for Homeowners, which uses funds from the American Rescue Plan.

It will be available to homeowners who do not pay mortgage payments or property taxes, to condominium owners who do not pay commissions, and industrial homeowners with housing arrears.

“We are working to ensure that every family, household and community has the resources to recover and rebuild,” Evers said. “We know that such a program is badly needed to help people maintain a roof over their heads, and it will be key to helping Wisconsin homeowners bounce back.”

More details are expected soon, with a launch expected this fall.
