The state government has welcomed the GST Council’s decision to reduce tax rates on certain items that are used to facilitate and manage COVID-19 until September 30, 2021.
Minister of the Interior and Parliamentary Affairs Basavaraj Bommai took part in a virtual meeting of the Council and demanded a meeting to discuss issues related to GST compensation after 2022. He also thanked Union Finance Minister Nirmalu Sitharaman for approving the GST offset loan and said the funds would aid the state’s efforts to combat the pandemic.
