Foundation pays mortgage to family of deceased officer – NBC4 Washington

The charity paid off the mortgage on the home of the late Delaware Police Corporal, who was fatally injured in the line of duty.

Mortgage on a corporal’s house. Stephen Ballard was one of 19 Tunnel to Towers Foundation members satisfied with this year’s Independence Day celebrations, Delaware State News reported.

Ballard, 32, was gunned down on April 26, 2017, when he approached a suspicious car in a parking lot. He left his wife Louise Ballard and their daughter.

“This is such a tremendous blessing that words cannot describe,” said Louise Ballard. “Thank you, this is not enough.”

The mission of the foundation, created to honor a firefighter who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks, is to support veterans, first responders and their families.
